HUDSON, OHIO, September 7, 2023 — Join the Friends of Hudson Parks this fall for our annual “Hike Hudson” event.
- Start by downloading entry form with complete rules for Hike Hudson on the Friends’ website at www.friendsofhudsonparks.org.
- Take pictures as you hike and post them to the Friends of Hudson Parks Facebook page or Instagram (#HikeHudson)!
- Choose from more than four miles of multipurpose trails in the following locations:
- Barlow Farm Park, Barlow Trail (behind Barlow Community Center)
- Bicentennial Woods
- Boston Mills Park
- Cascade Park
- Colony Park
- Darrow Road Park
- Hudson Springs Park
- Maple Grove Park
- Nicholson Trail
- Oak Grove Trail
- Trumbull Woods
- Turnpike Trail
- Wildlife Woods
- BONUS HIKES! Join us for one of our guided walks:
- Tuesday, 9/12, 6 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. – Darrow Road Park – Marcia Carsten, FOHP Board Member, will lead a hike through the new Pollinator Meadow at Darrow Road Park.
- Saturday, 9/23 at 9 a.m. - Colony Park - Rick Beam, FOHP Board Member, will provide an introduction to the iNaturalist App to record nature observations in Hudson.
- Saturday, 10/14 at 9 a.m. - Cascade Park - Mindfulness Hike, led by Shannon Speaks
- Saturday, 10/28 at 10 a.m. - Hudson Springs Parks - Guided hike with Judy Semroc, Field Biologist, Conservation Specialist & Naturalist - Hudson Springs Park trail.
- While at Darrow Road Park, be sure to observe the Pollinator Meadow. The Park is currently being restored to reintroduce lost native flowers and grasses. This will restore and support native populations of bees, butterflies, and other beneficial insects. You will find more project information on the Friends of Hudson Parks website.
- Turn your completed form in for prizes! Drop off at Destination Hudson Visitor Center, 27 East Main Street (Historic Hudson Town Hall).
- First 72 hikers to turn in their completed hiking form by November 30 will receive a Friends of Hudson Parks mug and a chance to win a $50 gift card from a local merchant.
