Executive Session
- Council entered executive session to interview an applicant for the position of City Manager.
Proclamation
- Special Recognition of Ms. Ashton Swinford. Mayor Anzevino recognized Ms. Ashton Swinford for winning the Women’s Division of the Cleveland Marathon on May 22, 2022.
- Special Recognition of Hudson Festival Days, June 17th - June 18th, 2022. Proclamation recognizes the annual celebration of Hudson’s Festival Days and the special events organized by the Hudson Garden Club, Hudson Society of Artists, Hudson League for Service, Leadership Hudson, Destination Hudson, and the Hudson Fire Department Association.
Public Comments
Correspondence and Council Comments
- Council thanked the City Manager, Public Works, Hudson Public Power, Fire, EMS, Police, Communications, and all City staff who did such an amazing job during the storm. Council also thanked all the other cities that sent crews and loaned us equipment to help during the event.
- People are having trouble canceling their subscriptions to the Hudson Hub Times. People also are having trouble receiving the newspaper. Councilwoman Beth Bigham asked individuals having trouble with the Hub to reach out to her.
- Council received feedback that some were disappointed they did not receive a code red alert. Code Red automatically calls all landlines in Hudson. People with cell phones must sign up for the alerts. www.hudson.oh.us/CodeRed
- The City will waive the permit fees for people repairing damaged property like sheds or fences. Individuals will still need a permit, but the fee will be waived.
- Council reminded residents there is a safe school helpline for the Hudson City School District. Call1-800-418-6423 EXT. 397, Text 614-426-0240, then type TIPS, or report online at www.safeschoolhelpline.com.
Report of Manager
- The Manager also thanked staff for doing a fantastic job during the storm. The City will be holding a post clean up meeting to go over what can be done better next time. Best part about the storm was watching residents helping residents

- Paul Stoehr to Tree Commission.
- Allyn Marzulla to the Architectural and Historic Board of Review (re-appointment).
Consent Agenda
Council passed the following Consent Agenda items. Passed 7-0.
- Resolution authorizing to enter a professional services contract with Answer Advisory for construction administration support for the SR 91 South Safety Improvement Project.
- Resolution amending Resolution 21-152 to re-advertise for bids and enter contracts for the SR 91 South Safety Improvement Project.
- Resolution to enter a contract with Euthenics for final engineering design for the Boston Mills Road Trail Project.
- Resolution affirming the acceptance of a Sustainability Grant Disbursement through the EcoSmart Choice Program from American Municipal Power.
- Resolution authorizing entering a contract with Arcadis, U.S., Inc. for professional services for the Terex Road Drainage Study.
- Resolution to approve a Then and Now Certificate.
- Resolution to enter a professional services contract with Virtual DataWorks for the migration to the Microsoft Government Community Cloud and Annual Subscription renewal for the Citywide use of Microsoft 365.
Legislation
- Resolution accepting recommendations of the Tax Incentive Review Council to continue Community Reinvestment Area agreements and Job Creation Grant program agreements. Third Reading. Passed 7-0.
- Resolution establishing a Steering Committee to update the City’s Comprehensive Plan. Second Reading. Motion to suspend the rules was made and after discussion was withdrawn. The emergency clause will remain. Third Reading. Passed 6-1.
- Ordinance amending Codified Ordinance Sections 660.08(c )(4)(D) and 672.12(f)(2) and regulating the use of consumer grade fireworks. Second Reading.
- Ordinance amending Sections 220.03, 220.031, and 220.06 of the Codified Ordinances to add provisions governing the introduction of Ordinances and Resolutions on regular and special City Council agendas. First Reading.
- Resolution amending the Storm Water Work Policy. First Reading.
- Ordinance amending Section 660.22, “OBSTRUCTING SEWERS AND WATERCOURSES,” of the General Offenses Code. First Reading.
- Resolution repealing Resolution No. 21-149 and withdrawing the authorization granted to the City Manager to enter into a purchase and sale agreement with Fairmount Properties, LLC for the sale of real property located downtown adjacent to First & Main. First Reading.
