Mid-Summer Construction Updates

Construction Updates

We have been working hard all spring and summer to improve Hudson's roadways, sidewalks, and infrastructure, along with bigger projects like the tennis and pickleball courts. Check out the list to see what we've been working on.

Annual Programs 

  • Annual Paving Program – Nearly complete  
    • Work remaining:
      • Parking lot repairs at City Hall.
      • Resurfacing Division Street between E. Main Street and College Street, a portion of Ogilby Drive, and Herrick Park Drive 
        • Anticipated completion in the next 3-4 weeks
  • Annual Concrete Program – Nearly complete
    • Work remaining: 
      • Sidewalk repairs along W. Streetsboro Street near Boston Mills Road is anticipated to be completed by the end of the week 
  • Annual Striping Program – Nearly complete
    • Work remaining:
      • Minor touch up work
  • Annual Crack Seal Program – Complete

Sidewalk and Trails

  • S. Darrow Road Sidewalk – Complete, with some minor cleanup in progress

  • Middleton & Stow Road Sidewalk– Bids were opened last week
    • Estimated to start late summer and continue through next summer  

Miscellaneous Site Projects

  • Barlow Community Center Dam Improvements– Approximately 40% complete. Anticipated completion by November.
    • Work remaining:  
      • Grading of upper pond for additional storm storage is complete
      • Lower pond - building new dam and outlet
      • Additional dredging of lower lake 
      • Upper lake’s emergency spillway 
      • Lower lake installation of Articulated Concrete Blocks
      • Grass area restoration and landscape items
  • Tennis & Pickleball Courts– Approximately 40% complete. Anticipated completion in September.
    • Work remaining: 
      • Paving and sidewalks including courts and parking lot
      • Painting, striping, fencing, and other miscellaneous installations

Storm and Water Related Projects

  • Brandywine Creek Tributary Stream Restoration (near Owen Brown Street) – First phase of work is nearly complete
    • Work remaining: 
      • In-stream riffle installation
      • Fine grading erosion matting and seeding 
      • Anticipated completion in next 1-2 weeks
    • Tree/bush planting anticipated this fall
  • Division Street Storm Improvements – Complete

  • Atterbury Blvd Culvert Extension – Anticipated to be bid in late summer and completed in the fall.
    • Ongoing Work:
      • Design and coordination  
  • College Street Storm Sewer Improvement – Anticipated completion in late summer.
    • Project will reduce ponding water behind a sidewalk on College Street near the WRA campus.
  • Storm Sewer Lining Program – Project is estimated to begin in late July and finish in September.

Street, Road and Traffic Projects

  • Ingleside Drive Bridge– Bridge work is complete.
    • Work Remaining:
      • Tree and bush planting 
      • Evergreen trees and bushes will be planted in the fall
