A letter from Hudson Police Chief Perry Tabak:
The Hudson Police Department is bringing back the Holiday Food and Gift Drive! Beginning Monday, November 1, we will be issuing Holiday Food and Gift Drive vouchers in lieu of traffic tickets and typical written warnings for minor traffic violations. This is the second year of the Holiday Food and Gift Drive, and we hope it will be as successful as last year.
We request that individuals receiving the vouchers donate a new, unopened gift for a child, a gas card, or a grocery store gift card to go to individuals and families in need during the holiday season. This is strictly voluntary!
Anyone who has been issued a voucher can voluntarily contribute by dropping off their donation to the Hudson Police Department, 36 South Oviatt Street, Hudson 44236.
Recipients of the donations will include struggling families, senior citizens with no family, or any individual in need. The Hudson Police Department works with community organizations to identify those that will benefit from the effort, including children that would otherwise not receive gifts during the holidays.
The true spirit of the holidays comes from giving back, giving thanks, and helping those in need. Thank you for helping make this program a success!
Have a safe and happy holiday season!
