Summit County to Receive Portion of State-Allocated COVID-19 Vaccine for Phase 1B Distribution

Today, in accordance with Governor DeWine’s request, Summit County Public Health (SCPH) and Summit County Emergency Management Agency held a press conference to announce the start of the COVID-19 Phase 1B vaccine program, which begins next week (tentatively on Tuesday, January 19) with individuals 80 years old and up. Summit County will release more information soon. Please see current details below.

  • Phase 1B begins with individuals 80 years old and up.
  • The dose of vaccines received are limited, but more will be coming. SCPH asks you to be please patient and to continue to minimize your risk by social distancing, wearing masks, etc.
  • There will be 11 providers in Summit County, including Summit County Public Health, that will administer the vaccine from approximately 36 locations. The various providers will have different ways to sign up, so please check with the provider location where you would like to receive the shot for sign up instructions. The providers are listed at www.scph.org/covid/vaccine.
  • To receive the vaccine through the health department, individuals should sign up on their site at www.scph.org/covid/vaccine
