With Hudson's Merry Mulch Program, residents can set their live Christmas trees by the curb for the City to pick up and process into a natural mulch product. The program begins the week of January 4 and the last round of pick up begins January 20. To participate, trees should be placed at the curb no later than the Sunday of your scheduled pick up week. This will ensure your tree is picked up if crews are running ahead or behind schedule. Trees will be picked up throughout each week. Please read through the following details of the program. Not sure which quadrant you live in? Check the map here.
First Round of Pick UpPlease note these dates are subject to change based on weather and the amount of trees set out. It is highly recommended to set your tree out by the Sunday of your scheduled pick up week to ensure pick up.
Last Round of Pick UpPlease note these dates are subject to change based on weather and the amount of trees set out. It is highly recommended to set your tree out by the Sunday of your scheduled pick up week to ensure pick up.
After your last schedule pick up, residents should contact their private trash hauler to arrange for disposal.
The program is limited to Christmas trees. The City does not pick up brush, wreaths, garland, tree limbs, or yard waste. All plastic bags/wrap, lights, tree stands wires, ornaments, garland, tinsel, and any other decorations should be removed from trees prior to placing them curbside. Trees with decorations or plastic will not be picked up as part of this program.
