HUDSON, OH (June 4, 2020) – The City’s accelerated road resurfacing program is underway, and motorists will see improvements to Middleton Road, Ravenna Street, and W. Prospect Street.
Last year, Hudson City Council approved increased expenditures on the City’s roads to bring the overall quality of streets in Hudson to a higher level. This year, the City is spending $1.22 million more on roads. Overall, 18% more will be spent on asphalt resurfacing and 388% more on concrete road asphalt overlays this year compared to last year.
The asphalt resurfacing program is about 50% complete and will continue through June with roads such as Norbury Drive, Seasons Road Extension, Haymarket Way, and South Manheim Court scheduled for resurfacing this year.
The concrete road asphalt overlay program is in progress and will include streets such as Hudson Park Drive, North Marblehead Road, Glen Echo Drive, and Berks Way. The concrete asphalt overlay program will continue through July.
The annual crack sealing program which helps maintain the roads will be moving forward in June. Once the crack sealing program is complete, the striping program will begin, most likely in July. Consistent warm temperatures and dry road conditions are required when the striping is placed. Road patching will be ongoing throughout June and July.
