City Council is currently accepting applications for openings on the Architectural and Historic Board of Review, Park Board, and Tree Commission. Applications will be accepted through Friday, May 22.
Architectural and Historic Board of Review (AHBR)
The AHBR reviews and approves/disapproves applications for zoning certificates other than for industrial buildings in industrial zones. The AHBR also issues certificates of appropriateness to construct, alter, remove or demolish structures, buildings or landmarks within any historic district. The AHBR maintains the high character of the community and protects public health, safety, and welfare. It reviews projects against the Architectural Design Standards.
Park Board
The Park Board advises City Council on matters regarding Hudson parks. If you love Hudson’s Parks, want to help keep the parks beautiful, and want to discuss ways to improve them, apply to join the Park Board!
Tree Commission
The Tree Commission considers, investigates, makes findings, and makes recommendations on any matter concerning trees.The commission also works to educate the community regarding care of the urban forest in Hudson.
To apply for the openings, please complete the online Boards and Commissions Application. Alternatively, residents may print and fill out an application and return it to the Clerk of Council at City Hall, 1140 Terex Road, Hudson, OH 44236.
The deadline to apply is Friday, May 22. To qualify, applicants must have been a Hudson resident for at least two years prior to the appointment and remain a resident during the entire term. Only registered voters will be considered for the openings.
