Today, Ohio Governor DeWine announced plans to begin reopening some businesses throughout the month of May provided they follow safety protocols established by the State. He announced:
- Healthcare facilities, dentists and some non-essential surgeries where there would not be an overnight hospital stay will be allowed to open May 1.
- Manufacturing, distribution and construction will be allowed to open May 4.
- General offices will be allowed to open May 4.
- Consumer retail and services will be allowed to open May 12.
Not permitted to open at this time include: restaurants and bars, gyms, hair salons, child and adult daycares and schools, summer camps, movie theaters, spectator sports, recreation centers, parades, fairs, festivals and pools, among others.
The Governor emphasized that people should continue with safe distancing, wear face coverings, wash hands, and clean and disinfect regularly, as the virus is still among us.
