HUDSON, OH (March 12, 2020) – Effective immediately, the City of Hudson is closing Barlow Community Center and the community rooms available for rent in City Hall out of an abundance of caution due to the coronavirus. All activities scheduled for Barlow Community Center and the City Hall community rooms are cancelled until further notice.
Although there has not been a confirmed case identified in Hudson or in Summit County, the City is adhering to Ohio Governor Mike DeWine’s request and the Ohio Department of Health recommendations that indoor gatherings in Ohio be cancelled or postponed due to the potential for coronavirus (COVID-19) exposure.
While events in the community rooms have been cancelled, Hudson City Hall remains open at this time.
The City is also cancelling all non-essential board and committee meetings through the beginning of April. Boards and committee meetings that have been cancelled will be noted on our website calendar at www.hudson.oh.us.
“We are being proactive to help prevent any potential spread of coronavirus within our community, particularly among our elderly citizens who often use Barlow Community Center and our community rooms,” said Jane Howington, City Manager.
If you are an event organizer who has an event scheduled at either of these locations and have questions about this closure, please call 330-342-1750.
