At the February 4 Council meeting, Hudson City Council voted to cancel the construction contract for Veterans Trail Phase 3 and return any funding received for the project back to the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT).
Following concerns expressed by Nicholson Drive residents, Council and staff met with the residents and decided to halt the current project while the City works with citizens on a revised plan for the Phase 3 Trail. The City will hold public meetings, most likely in late March, to work to present new alignment options and types of paths with the public.
Council members expressed a desire for increased connectivity throughout the community and asked that the Citywide Connectivity Plan be reviewed and discussed at a future Council Workshop. Council will review the plan, consider priorities and any revisions that might be made to the plan to meet the needs of the community.
Citizens can stay involved by providing comments or suggestions to the City by emailing their thoughts to communications@hudson.oh.us. The input will be gathered and provided to City Council and staff for future discussions. The City will continue its citizen outreach through meetings and other community engagement activities as the Connectivity Plan discussion progresses.
