City Council is currently accepting applications for openings on the Charter Review Commission, Planning Commission, and the Hudson Community TV Advisory Committee. Council is accepting applications for the opening through Friday, November 29.
Charter Review Commission
Every five years, a Charter Review Commission is formed. City Council appoints from 7 to 11 Hudson residents as members. The Charter Review Commission is tasked with reviewing the City's Charter and submitting any proposed amendments to Council, which passes legislation to place the issue before Hudson voters at the general election in November that same year. This Commission is only a 5-6 month commitment as it is only needed every five years.
Planning Commission
The Planning Commission acts on commercial and industrial site plans, conditional uses, and subdivisions of land. It makes recommendations to Council concerning amendments to the zoning code and zoning map, the Comprehensive Plan, and more. Planning Commission also works together with the Architectural and Historic Board of Review and Board of Zoning and Building Appeals as necessary for all building and zoning projects. These board members may serve no more than three consecutive, four-year terms.
Hudson Community TV Advisory Committee
The HCTV Advisory Committee was established to assist the station managers in defining goals and objectives of public, educational, and governmental access to cable television and to explore funding sources for programs.
To apply for the openings, please complete the online Boards and Commissions Application. Alternatively, residents may print and fill out an application and return it to the Clerk of Council at City Hall, 1140 Terex Road, Hudson, OH 44236.
