Help fight against the misuse of prescription drugs by dropping off your unused and expired prescriptions to the Hudson Police at Acme grocery store (116 West Streetsboro Street) on Saturday, April 28 between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. The Hudson Police Department is participating in the Drug Enforcement Agency's (DEA) National Prescription Drug Take Back Day.
Make sure to mark off your name, RX number, and medication name with a black marker, and seal all bottles in a see-through Ziploc bag. No syringes or liquids of any type will be accepted.
Last October, a record-setting 912,305 pounds of prescription drugs were turned in at more than 5,300 sites operated by the DEA and more than 4,200 of its state and local law enforcement partners. Since 2015, the DEA and its partners have taken in more than 9 million pounds of medications through Take Back events.
If you can't make it Saturday, an unused medications disposal box is available 24/7 in the lobby of the Hudson Police Department, 36 S. Oviatt.
