Hudson is proud to announce that Keep Hudson Beautiful is now an official affiliate of Keep America Beautiful (KAB), an organization that works to inspire and educate people to act every day to improve and beautify their community environment. Hudson is the 36th affiliation in Ohio and one of more than 620 community affiliates that carry out the Keep America Beautiful shared mission at the state, county and municipal levels.
As part of the application process, Hudson’s Environmental Awareness Committee (EAC) and City staff participated in community training which included instruction on KAB’s behavioral-based changed process to deal with community improvement issues. Hudson received an Ohio EPA Litter Management grant of $2,700 toward participation in the Keep American Beautiful program to support KAB’s mission and activities.
Keep Hudson Beautiful will be established as an advisory committee to the EAC that will focus on litter abatement, increasing recycling, and beautifying the Hudson community through green initiatives. Keep Hudson Beautiful will include EAC members, City staff, and representatives of several local organizations and businesses.
The City is seeking volunteers to help with Keep Hudson Beautiful events and programs. To learn how to volunteer, contact Sonya Mottram at smottram@hudson.oh.us, 330-342-1750.
