You may have noticed 2-Hour Parking signs popping up in First & Main. At the request of Hudson merchants, the City was asked to re-evaluate the downtown parking codes, implement 2-hour parking in some areas, and increase parking enforcement. The goal is to encourage parking turnover to help ensure customers have access to parking spots when visiting their favorite stores and restaurants.
The red lines on the map show areas where 2-hour parking is being implemented. Longer-term parking is still available in the parking terrace and in the parking lot on Village Way. We’ve put up the signs now so people get used to the areas where the parking restrictions will be put in place. We ask that you adhere to the 2-hour parking limits, although we will not begin strong enforcement of these areas until January 1, 2017. We hope these changes encourage greater turnover of parking spots that will make it easier to access downtown stores during peak hours.
