If you don't know what to do with those prescription drugs that have expired or you no longer need, we have a solution. The Hudson Police Department will be participating in the Drug Enforcement Agency's (DEA) National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day by collecting unused medications inside Acme grocery store on Saturday, October 22. Bring medication inside any time between 10 a.m. and 2 a.m. Make sure to mark off your name, RX number, and medication name with a black marker, and seal all bottles in a see-through Ziploc bag. No syringes or liquids of any type will be accepted.
Last April, more than 893,000 pounds of prescription drugs were turned in at nearly 5,400 sites operated by the DEA and more than 4,200 of its state and local law enforcement partners. Overall, in its 11 previous Take Back events, DEA and its partners have taken in more than 6.4 million pounds of pills.
Help us fight against the misuse of these medications and drop off your unused prescriptions on October 22.
