UPDATE 2/1/22: The City's contractor is doing their best to finish up the final round of the Merry Mulch Program after winter weather caused delays in the last couple weeks. The second and final round of pick up is in progress but may need to extend into the week of February 7 due to more winter weather expected this week. Thank you for your patience as we finish up the program.
2022 Merry Mulch Program
The City of Hudson provides free citywide pickup of live Christmas trees following the holidays. This is an opportunity for residents to recycle their trees. After pickup, the trees are processed into a natural mulch product.
The 2022 Merry Mulch Program runs from January 3 through January 28, 2022. Please see the schedule below for your pick up dates. This program is not intended for removal of brush, tree branches, or live decorations, such as wreaths or garland.
In order to participate in the program, Christmas trees must be free of the following:
Plastic bags/plastic wrap
Trees MUST be placed in the tree lawn area (the area between the sidewalk and the edge of the street in front of your home) no later than 7 a.m. on the first day of your scheduled pick up dates for each round. The speed at which pick up occurs depends on the volume of trees and the weather. Once crews pass your address during the first round, they will not be back to your address until the second round. Once crews pass your address during the second round, they will not return. Please contact your private trash hauler to arrange for tree disposal if your tree cannot be placed on the tree lawn by 7 a.m. on the first day of your second pick up.
Please see important program dates for your quadrant below. Not sure which quadrant you're in? Type your address into the Quadrant Look Up Tool below. Please contact the Public Works Department at (330) 342-1750 if you have questions regarding this program.
We are currently behind schedule. Please see the update notice at the top of this page.
