Senior Advisory Committee

The Committee hosts a series of events and social opportunities throughout the year.  We are looking forward to seeing all of you for our Session 1 events which include Chair Yoga, painting classes, Tai Chi, and many other exciting opportunities which you can register for in the above form.

Senior Services Directory

The Senior Advisory Committee has compiled a resource directory to help seniors, family members, and caretakers find resources in Hudson and the surrounding area. The City of Hudson does not endorse these services, but offers them as a resource.

Are You a Hudson Senior in Need of Transportation*

If yes, then call Jeff Adelman (330-256-6422) Sedan or Van Transportation in Hudson. 24-hour notice strongly recommended. Available 7 days/week from 7am-8pm.

Medical appointments, grocery or other shopping, errands, church/religious events, social events/visits, fitness, etc.

Jeff can load your wheelchair or walker. Must be able to get into and out of care independently.

*Age 60 or over. Funds are being provided as a pilot from a limited On the Table grant to Rejoice! Lutheran Church in Hudson through the Akron Community Foundation. We ask that you simply return a provided, postage-paid postcard with your rating of the service.

Usage is limited to three round-trips per individual to maximize those who benefit from the grant. One of the three trips can be a distance of up to 35 miles (or 70 miles round trip) to encourage (non-emergency) trips to Cleveland Clinic, Akron General Hospital, or University Hospital for example.

Seniors who reside in the Hudson City school district, but outside the City of Hudson limits, can now use the service - this expands the potential use to some who live in Peninsula who could benefit from the service.

Summit County Senior Citizen Information Booklet

Summit County has compiled a booklet to help seniors, their loved ones, and caretakers with information and contacts for free and non-profit services throughout Summit County. While the County's guide is a bit outdated, it provides additional resources in a wider area.
