Vacation Watch Program
The Hudson Police Department (HPD) offers this service to residents when they are away for periods of less than 30 days. Officers will periodically check the security of your home while you are away. You may submit a request by providing information via an online form, or stopping by the Police Department at any time.
Program Details
If no one is expected at your residence during your vacation, the Hudson Police Department will make a reasonable effort to check your home and property periodically. However, voluntarily providing us with your information by making this request affords no guarantees in preventing harm or theft to and of your property and shall not be considered a substitute for proper home security precautions. If anyone is at your property during your vacation stay for any scheduled reason (for example, a family member, friend or neighbor picks up your mail, newspapers, expected packages, and/or performs pet care duties, etc.) we will take your information, but consider it “emergency contact information” only and HPD will not perform any security checks at your residence as the presence of someone unknown to the officers at your residence could compromise that person’s safety.
If the request for time spent away exceeds 30 days, we will again consider your information “emergency contact information” only and your residence will not be checked.
Thank you for your understanding. If you have any questions relative to this notice, please feel free to call 330-342-1800.
