On Sunday, May 6, Hudson Middle School student James Fliss organized a Keep Hudson Beautiful Clean-up to beautify the area on Stow Road between Barlow Road and Ravenna Street. The project was for his “Literacy in the Community” class at the Middle School.
In April, the City’s Keep Hudson Beautiful committee compiled a litter index report identifying areas in the City that needed cleaning up. With the help of Hudson Middle School students, areas identified in the report, such as Terex Road (from Barlow to SR 91) and Stow Road, were scheduled for cleaned-up in April and May.
The City welcomes volunteer groups that would like to participate in community clean-ups. All supplies will be provided. If you would like to organize a clean-up day, email Sonya Mottram in the City’s Public Works Department at EnvironmentalEd@hudson.oh.us.
Keep Hudson Beautiful also will hold a “Keep Hudson Cemeteries Beautiful” flower planting event on May 19, 2018 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Keep Hudson Beautiful, an affiliate of Keep America Beautiful, was established as an Environmental Awareness Committee Subcommittee to focus on improving the beauty, cleanliness and safety of the City. Its goal is to reduce litter, increase recycling, and beautify Hudson by engaging individuals to take greater responsibility for improving the environment.
