Learn More About Issue 8

Fire EMS Issue 8

Volunteerism nationwide is at an all time low, which has impacted Hudson's EMS predominantly volunteer service. The decrease in volunteers has created a need for more compensated paramedics and EMTs which has escalated EMS operating costs significantly since the passage of a funding levy in 2004. Issue 8 would administratively re-allocate separate Fire and EMS funds from 2004 into one fund to be used as needed for both. Issue 8 would help sustain EMS without raising taxes, and will not impact Fire Department operations.
