Testing of the five new high-tech tornado sirens is complete. Going forward, the Hudson Fire Department (HFD) will test the new system on the first Saturday of every month at noon for 15 seconds. Check the tornado siren map to see which location is closest to you.
HFD would like to remind you that even though the new sirens can be heard more easily, it is still important to use other forms of weather monitoring and emergency notifications:
The City also highly encourages all residents to sign up the Hudson’s Code Red Emergency Alert System so you and your family will receive vital, real-time information during any type of emergency. When seconds count, we will notify you of urgent situations, such as boil water messages, emergency evacuations, tornado warnings, crime alerts, or other important information. Register your cell phones in Code Red to make sure you will always stay informed.
Other important channels for City information are the City’s Facebook and Twitter pages. Visit the Emergency Communications page to learn all the ways you can be notified during an emergency.
