Hudson Public Power (HPP) customers have been receiving calls from scammers claiming the customer has a discrepancy in their electric service account and asking for payment. The scammers do not identify their employer. These calls are not from the City of Hudson.
When legitimately contacted by the City of Hudson regarding an HPP account, City staff will state that they are with the City of Hudson Utility Billing Department. It is rare for the Utility Billing Department to call about a discrepancy and they will never ask you to pay over the phone. Payments for utilities are only accepted in person or online.
