Case 2016-10: Code Amendment Charter
Ordinance No. 16-57 is an amendment to the Land Development Code pursuant to Charter amendments approved by voters in November 2105. The proposed Land Development Code amendments would allow staff approval of minor nonresidential projects in addition to residential approvals, as presently authorized.
December 6, 2016: City Council will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at 7:30 p.m. at Town Hall to consider Ordinance No. 16-57.
September 26, 2016: The Planning Commission held a public hearing on Monday, September 26, 2016 at 7:30 p.m. at Town Hall. The Planning Commission recommended that Council adopt this legislation as amended that implements charter amendments, expands administrative authority to act on select project, and implements measures to control storm water runoff in the historic district.
September 12, 2016: The Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on Monday, September 12, 2016 at 7:30 p.m. at Town Hall. This meeting was canceled and rescheduled for September 26.
August 16, 2016: A two-month review extension request was presented to Council at their August 16 meeting. The motion to approve the two-month extension was passed.
August 8, 2016: The Planning Commission held a public hearing on Monday, August 8 at 7:30 p.m. at Town Hall. Planning Commission did not object to the revised ordinance, but requested that Council authorize two more months to review the ordinance that was amended since it was first introduced. Staff will provide Council a summary of the amendment and place PC's request on the August 16 agenda. If Council grants the request, Planning Commission will take up the amendment at the September meeting.
July 11, 2016: The Planning Commission held a public hearing on Monday, July 11, 2016 at 7:30 p.m. at Town Hall. The case was continued to the August meeting to allow for amendments to the draft so more projects would require PC approval than proposed.
June 13, 2016: The Planning Commission held a public hearing on Monday, June 13, 2016 at 7:30 p.m. at Town Hall to consider Case 2016-10 concerning proposed Ordinance No. 16-57. The case was continued to the July 11 Planning Commission meeting to allow for final revisions.
