Boards and Commissions
The City of Hudson relies on volunteer boards and commissions as part of its governmental process. If you are interested in becoming a member of a Hudson board or commission, complete the boards and commissions application.
Voting in the City of Hudson is overseen by the Summit County Board of Elections. Click here for information on polling places, registering to vote and more.
Income tax is paid through the Regional Income Tax Agency (RITA). Property taxes are collected by Summit County. Sales tax is collected by the State of Ohio.

Planning and Zoning
The Department of Community Development can assist citizens with developing property, altering the exterior appearance of a house or building, erecting a sign or constructing an accessory structure in a yard. For each of these activities, one must apply to the City of Hudson for a zoning certificate before applying for a building permit from the Summit County Division of Building Standards.

Trash and Recycling
Trash collection is provided by independent companies that are approved by the City. All residential waste haulers must provide curbside recycling services and trash collection service for a single fee (non-subscription) per City of Hudson Ordinance. Barlow Community Center
Barlow Community Center, located at 41 S. Oviatt St., offers a variety of rooms and a full auditorium with stage for rent to Hudson residents. The building, which is located near a beautiful pond and walking trails, is an ideal location to hold your next group meeting or event. Click here for more info.
Ellsworth Meadows Golf Club
Ellsworth Meadows is a beautifully manicured 18-hole course that was named one of the top 12 golf courses in Northeast Ohio by Crain's Cleveland Business and ranked in GolfStyles Magazine's list of 100 best courses in Ohio. There are currently 20 Hudson Parks. Some of the activities and amenities available at Hudson Parks are fishing, boating, bocce, sand volleyball, disc golf, ball fields, soccer fields, a community garden, a skate park, playgrounds, hiking trails, grills, picnic tables and pavilions. With more than 100 independently owned, regional and national chain retail shops and restaurants, Hudson has something to suit everyone's taste and style. More than 80 special events are held on public properties in Hudson throughout the year. This includes popular events like the Home And Garden Tour, Bandstand Summer Music Festival, Taste Of Hudson, Ice Cream Social and Art On The Green. All special events are posted on the Community Calendar.
