The Hudson Police Department offers this service to residents when they are away for periods of less than 30 days. Officers will periodically check the security of your home while you are away. You may submit a request by providing information via an online form, or stopping by the Police Department at any time.
If you are planning on having a family member, friend or neighbor pick up your mail, newspapers, expected packages, and/or perform pet care duties, we will take your information, but consider it “emergency contact information” only and not perform any security checks at your residence as the presence of someone unknown to the officers at your residence could compromise that person’s safety. Additionally, if the request for time spent away exceeds 30 days, we will again consider your information “emergency contact information” only as we are unable to provide long-term home checks from simply a practical standpoint.
Please submit your vacation request form at least 3-5 days prior to departure.
